Where with all these fabric scraps?

Tonight I converted 4 x 0,5m of yellow, red, blue and green sweater fabric into pieces for 2 hooded sweaters and one pant for Keksi. But why is the stack of scraps higher than the piled pieces I will use for sewing?
I´m the sort of person who can´t throw any fabric (although I don´t show this habit of gathering things in other areas). But if I want to keep all this pieces I need a bigger house! I´ll think it over…

Vielleicht ist das sowas wie die vier Hauptsätze der Thermodynamik – und du hast ein neues Naturgesetz entdeckt: “Das Volumen der Stoffreste eines Nähprojekts ist immer größer als das Volumen des fertigen Objekts” oder so.
