How I sew a V-Neck

Yes, this is how I sew a V-neck, not how to sew a V-neck. No clue how wrong it is what I´m doing. But maybe this can give you sewers out there some inspiration.

I took some pictures while I did the V-neck for the red´n green velour sweater I sew some days ago. How to sew neckline bindings in general using the serger you can see in this great video.

As I´m not good in the sewing-language, no matter if German, Swedish or English I did as many pictures as possible. If you think something´s unclear or missing – shout and ask!

The normal neckline binding

Put it in the neckline like this to mark the V

Cut it with a scissors

If you´re bold´n brute like me you sew the V with the serger (without knife and you have to go around the V with the handwheel)

If you´re reasonable´n wise you sew it with the normal machine (in this case you can cut after sewing)

Turn it inside-out and it should look like this

Adding the binding with the serger requires practice – it is not so easy. You have to start and stop at the bottom of the V

The result should look a bit like this
