12 years ago I got married. Happy anniversary my darling!
This is as romantic I can be. To the sorrow of my husband who is romantic. I think there is a unwritten law saying a couple must consist of one romantic and one un-romantic part. Normally the woman takes the romantic part. Not here.
A couple of days ago I asked him if he would allow me to publish a picture of him. What for? he asked. I want to post about our anniversary and tell the story of the pink coat was my answer. Will you also tell your readers that you refused to renew our marital pledge at our 10th anniversary? he teased me.
So now you know how cruel I am. I love my man but marrige and wedding is so embarassing and I´m so glad I have it behind me. Just not again! I thought.
But fact is in theory I would do it again and again and again and again and again. Just not publicly. So maybe this is the place, at the same time private and publicly. I´m not sure he will like and appreciate what I´m doing here but I love you so much my heart´s aching if you´re not ok, if you´re not nearby, if you´re sad. I would give you heaven on earth if I could.
Some of you wondered about the “man in the pink coat” whom I wrote about here. Today I will tell you a little bit more. I hope I didn´t promise too much.
…Me and my friend were standing in the darkest corner of the bar next to the men´s room (there you have the most male traffic you understand). Behind us we suddenly noticed a funny guy talking loud and gesticulating with another man. He was kinda funny sight, the way he behaved and he had this pink coat which made us laugh. After a while I had to pay a visit to the lady´s room which was on the other side of the bar. When I returned I noticed the guy with the pink coat was gone and the man he was talking to was standing there alone. I approached him “Where´s the guy with the pink trenchcoat gone?” He answered “I don´t know. We don´t belong together.” “Ah I thought you do ´cause he was talking to you.” “He´s weird. I´m happy he´s gone. He was just talking nonsense.” “Will you join us to Benjamin (another bar)?” I asked him. But the prompt answer was “No.” I was a bit confused, no man had ever answered me NO on such a question so I returned “Why not?” The logical answer I got was “`cause I don´t like the Benjamin” I tried to mediate “We could go somewhere else?” Which we did…
This is how we looked like at that time…15 years ago

And today, a couple of weeks ago on our car trip to Sweden. As you can see we have exchanged our cigarettes for shades.

We have head lice…. which means the boy is at home and we are washing, washing and washing. Inbetween I train my trainee.
Now we´ll get a haircut!
While being on vacation Sweden I was browsing for new blogs and found Mona from German Broschenmanufaktur. She is doing wonderful pins and broochs. Last week she posted about her latest flea market find, a bed sheet. She was looking for someone interested in a swap as she´s not in the need of so much fabric for her pins.
Here me! And sent her a mixed lot of fabric scraps. Which wasn´t easy. How many scraps for half a bed sheet? This is what Mona got:

And I got love in return! Look here

I´m in general not good in wrapping things nicely up. So Mona just got a plastic bag with fabric scraps. And I?? I got a card with heart-warming words, vintage buttons, a bunny pin and a small thing for Keksi. Wonderful!
These “Yoyos” I bought from Mona´s shop, click here to get there. I will probably give away some for Christmas.

Oh, I almost forget the bed sheet I received!! See above….
Thanks Mona!
I can tell you there were maaany people at IKEA today. Living outside Sweden IKEA naturally becomes your second home. And especially their x-mas decoration I have to go and check every year – all other shops here have mainly these golden angels stuff – uargh.
I bought quite a bit which explains the unpacking chaos. But we had to test of course.

Among other things a big funny luminous ball. While putting it together Keksi meant “I know what it looks like – Tina´s hair!!“

I´m not quite sure yet where to put Tina, but I´ll let you know. I have a couple of weeks to come up with a suitable spot.
This has very little to do with fabrics but this is what made me laugh this morning. Have you ever seen the ads for Apple? Have a look…
Today I will spend my day at Ikea and do some christmas decoration shopping!! Yeah!
The same girl who will receive a princess´dream skirt tomorrow when she´s turning 3 will also get this wonderful doll´s blanket her mum (Sister N) did for her. Lucky little girl! I love the colors.

A visit to StoffochStil was certainly obligatory during our vacation in Sweden. Keksi is so sweet – being in a fabric store he brings me heavy bolts of fabric asking if I want some of this fabric, over and over again, and if I say no he´s really disappointed. So you can guess I have (small pieces of) some fabrics at home that are really ugly.
For a child growing up in a non-windows home, only using Mac and Linux, the penguins on this interlock knit were Linux mascuts. “Mommy look Tux-fabric!!” So we bought half a meter for a Tux shirt.

Years of hunt for the perfect alarm clock has finally come to an end. I found it in Sweden at Lagerhaus.

It´s almost perfect. It rings…..
