Et voila

July 18, 2008

My sister likes the 50s style. In spring I bought a pattern from 1954 of a “misses jumper” dress on ebay and we decided to sew her a dress when she visits us in summer.

So what do you do when it´s 36°C outside?? Yes, you go inside, turn on the aircon and start sewing…. ;)

I also had a pattern for a 50s full skirt with petticoat. So we did a one layer petticoat to match. We are quite happy with the results :)

The red bunny fabric my sister brought from Sweden, bought at Ahlens. It´s a medium weight woven cotton.

Tulle for petticoat is bought at local fabric store Komolka.

The petticoat just consists of 4 pieces sewn together to one layer with serger. Then I just “overlocked” it to an elastic band and finished it with a rolled hem at the bottom.

Now my sister and the dress are on their way back to Sweden…. bye, bye.

Thank you sis!
