About anniversary, romantics and the pink coat

October 29, 2009

12 years ago I got married. Happy anniversary my darling!

This is as romantic I can be. To the sorrow of my husband who is romantic. I think there is a unwritten law saying a couple must consist of one romantic and one un-romantic part. Normally the woman takes the romantic part. Not here.

A couple of days ago I asked him if he would allow me to publish a picture of him. What for? he asked. I want to post about our anniversary and tell the story of the pink coat was my answer. Will you also tell your readers that you refused to renew our marital pledge at our 10th anniversary? he teased me.

So now you know how cruel I am. I love my man but marrige and wedding is so embarassing and I´m so glad I have it behind me. Just not again! I thought.

But fact is in theory I would do it again and again and again and again and again. Just not publicly. So maybe this is the place, at the same time private and publicly. I´m not sure he will like and appreciate what I´m doing here but I love you so much my heart´s aching if you´re not ok, if you´re not nearby, if you´re sad. I would give you heaven on earth if I could.

Some of you wondered about the “man in the pink coat” whom I wrote about here. Today I will tell you a little bit more. I hope I didn´t promise too much.

…Me and my friend were standing in the darkest corner of the bar next to the men´s room (there you have the most male traffic you understand). Behind us we suddenly noticed a funny guy talking loud and gesticulating with another man. He was kinda funny sight, the way he behaved and he had this pink coat which made us laugh. After a while I had to pay a visit to the lady´s room which was on the other side of the bar. When I returned I noticed the guy with the pink coat was gone and the man he was talking to was standing there alone. I approached him “Where´s the guy with the pink trenchcoat gone?” He answered “I don´t know. We don´t belong together.” “Ah I thought you do ´cause he was talking to you.” “He´s weird. I´m happy he´s gone. He was just talking nonsense.” “Will you join us to Benjamin (another bar)?” I asked him. But the prompt answer was “No.” I was a bit confused, no man had ever answered me NO on such a question so I returned “Why not?” The logical answer I got was “`cause I don´t like the Benjamin” I tried to mediate “We could go somewhere else?” Which we did…

This is how we looked like at that time…15 years ago

And today, a couple of weeks ago on our car trip to Sweden. As you can see we have exchanged our cigarettes for shades.

happy, happy, happy anniversary to you two! Love the pics – now we know about the pink coat… :) I have to tell you, that you two always gave me hope (when I was single and also when I was wondering if a relationship ever can make sense) and seeing you two always made me think that getting married looks like being quite a lovely thing! Thank you! Have a good time celebrating! xoxo
